Tosuke Yamamoto (2nd generation) purchased the factory and facilities of Hattori Shoten in Oi, Ebara-gun, Tokyo Prefecture, and established the company. Shigezo Mouri served as the general partner.

Received orders for rolling stock related parts
Started prototyping passenger car components—such as center pillars, corner pillars, and end pillars—for the Ministry of Railways.

Received orders for chassis frames and other automotive parts from Ishikawajima Automotive Works and Tokyo Gas and Electric Industrial Co.

Resolved to establish a joint-stock company at the Osaka head office of Yamamoto Tosuke Shoten. Capital: 500,000 yen. President: Tosuke Yamamoto (3rd generation). Executive Director: Shigezo Mouri.

Head Office & Kawasaki Plant Completed / Functions and Facilities Relocated
To increase production capacity, a new plant was constructed in Shiohama, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture, and all head office functions and equipment were relocated from Oi.

Opened Press Kogyo School for Youth (private)
Built a school building within Kawasaki Plant. First principal: Shigezo Mouri.
1940
Placed under the control of the Japanese Army
Received a factory management order from the Minister of the Japanese Army. The majority of orders were now for military supplies.
1941
Introduced a 1,500-ton press manufactured in Germany by WEINGARTEN
Expanded equipment capacity to handle the large volume of military orders. Gained attention for its high precision.

Established BANKIN KOGYO CO., LTD.
Established in Honcho, Ota-ku, Tokyo. Supplied parts as a partner company of Press Kogyo.

Closed the plant when WWII ended
Forty-seven employees remain after being dissolved.

Resumed production
Production resumed in October after retrieving machinery that had been sent to Nagano Prefecture. The company began manufacturing bicycle parts, agricultural tools, and other consumer products.

Developed with a focus on safety, weight reduction, and mass production through pressing. Later, in 1957, established Truck Body Co., Ltd. as a joint venture with Isuzu.

Contributed to the weight reduction and higher speeds of rail cars by replacing cast steel components with pressed parts.

Succeeded in developing stamped axle cases for heavy-duty trucks
Aimed to reduce weight by replacing malleable cast iron parts with pressed components. Mass production began in January 1954.

Established KYOWA MFG. CO., LTD.
Established in Kamata, Ota-ku, Tokyo, and started production automotive parts for Press Kogyo.

Expanded facilities Including Installation of 3,000-ton hydraulic press
Due to increased production, land adjacent to the Kawasaki Plant was acquired. Buildings were expanded and press machines were added in phases.

Fujisawa Plant commenced operations
To expand production capacity in response to increased orders, a plant was constructed in Endo, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture. The press shop began operations first, and Phase 1 was completed in May 1962.

BANKIN KOGYO CO., LTD. constructed Fujisawa Plant
A new plant was constructed in Kirihara-cho, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa, to supply parts to our Fujisawa Plant.
1965
New head office building completed
To commemorate the 40th anniversary, a five-story head office building was constructed. A completion celebration was held in June along with an anniversary ceremony.

Started production of Isuzu Unicab
At the Fujisawa Plant, production of the Isuzu Unicab began with a monthly output of 200 units. This marked the company’s entry into the vehicle assembly business.

Established Press Kogyo Saitama Mfg. Co., Ltd.
A new company was established in Kawagoe City, Saitama Prefecture, as a manufacturing base in northern Kanto. Operations began in March 1968.
1968
An unveiling ceremony was held at the Onomichi Plant after the completion of the 1st construction phase
Constructed a plant in Takasu-cho, Onomichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, as a manufacturing base for western Japan. Partial operations began in April.

Completed vehicle assembly plant in the Fujisawa Plant. Started production of the Nissan Patrol
Constructed a vehicle assembly plant with a monthly production capacity of 2,500 units and began production of the Nissan Patrol. This marked the start of full-scale vehicle manufacturing operations.

Tochigi Plant began its operation
Constructed a plant adjacent to Isuzu’s Tochigi Plant in Shimotsuga-gun, Tochigi Prefecture. Began operations as a production base for axle cases for heavy-duty trucks.

PK Engineering Co., Ltd. relocated to Fujisawa
Relocated its headquarters from Kawasaki to Ishikawa, Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture.

Developed and began production of pressed parking pallets
Jointly developed pressed parking pallets with Ishikawajima-Harima Heavy Industries, and supplied them for Nissan Motor’s finished vehicle warehouses.

Utsunomiya Plant began its operation
Constructed a plant in Kawachi-gun, Tochigi Prefecture, as a press center. Introduced a 5,000-ton rail press manufactured in West Germany by SIEMPELKAMP.

Started production of cabins for wheel loaders for Kawasaki Heavy Industries at the Onomichi Plant. Entered the assembly business for construction machinery cabins.

PRESS & PLÅT NV began operations in Belgium
Established a group company of Press & Plåt Gruppen AB in Tongeren, Belgium, and built a factory which began operations. The factory produces truck parts for Volvo and other items.

Hiratsuka Plant began its operation
Constructed a plant within the Oe Kogyo premises in Hiratsuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, as a base for the specialty equipped vehicle business.

Opening ceremony held for THAI SUMMIT PK CO., LTD. Laem Chabang Plant
In response to increased orders for auto parts, a sister company of TSPK was established and a new plant was constructed in Laem Chabang, Chonburi Province, Thailand. An opening ceremony was held. The factory started production of chassis frames.

P&K Logistics Co., Ltd. established (now: PK Logistics Co., Ltd.)
Acquired Kubomoto Transport Co., Ltd. as a subsidiary to manage the company’s logistics operations and renamed it. The headquarters was located within the Kawasaki Plant.

Started production of construction machinery cabins using variant shaped steel pipe technology
Started production of the first cabin for construction machinery that uses variant shaped steel pipes at Onomichi Plant.

Tochigi Plant closed
Closed the Tochigi Plant as part of a production system reorganization. Production was consolidated into Utsunomiya Plant.

Started production of axle units for heavy-duty
Started production of axle units for heavy-duty trucks at Press Saitama after receiving assembly equipment transferred from Nissan Diesel.

Hiratsuka Plant closed
Closed the Hiratsuka Plant due to the downsizing of the specialty equipped vehicle business. Ongoing product orders were transferred to a subsidiary.

Fujisawa vehicle assembly plant closed
Ended vehicle assembly operations in the Kanto region to focus on core products, removed equipment, and developed the site of the demolished factory to be used as a receptacle for core products.

Cross-Functional Team was established
Launched activities of Cross-Functional Team, an organization-wide project team. Focused initiatives were implemented in profitability management by customer and product.

Began vehicle assembly of commercial trucks ordered by Mazda Motor Corporation
Concluded a contract manufacturing agreement with Mazda in October 2002, relocated assembly equipment, and started production. Later assembled commercial vehicles such as the Bongo and Titan Dash.

Established a joint venture with Metal One in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, China, to manufacture construction machinery cabins. Operations began in May 2005.

Absorbed Press Kogyo Saitama Mfg. Co., Ltd. and started production as Saitama Plant
Press Saitama was merged to enhance group management, marking the end of its operations as a subsidiary. It began operating as the Saitama Plant.

Established THAI SUMMIT PK CORPORATION LTD. in Thailand
Established a new company in Hemaraj District, Rayong Province, Thailand, to expand operations and integrate joint venture management. Operations began in December 2010.

Belgian company, PRESS & PLÅT NV (PPB) dissolved.
Closed the production base in Belgium due to overseas location consolidation. European operations were integrated into Press & Plåt AB in Sweden.
